I’ve made the difficult decision to suspend all campaign activity that involves direct contact with voters.
This is difficult because I’ve always enjoyed meeting voters and constituents. Our campaign has knocked on 10,000 Wauwatosa doors and I’ve personally knocked on about 4,000.
But I’m running to be a leader for Wauwatosa, and leadership often requires doing difficult things when it is the right thing to do. The best public health advice we’ve received makes it clear that suspending direct contact with voters is the right thing.
We’re exploring how to reach out to voters in meaningful ways that don’t contribute to the spread of COVID-19. (These probably will cost more than we’ve budgeted for, so please consider contributing to our campaign at https://mcbride4tosa.com/contribute.)
Each of us needs to take responsibility for our friends, neighbors, and fellow citizens. I encourage you to follow the best public health advice and engage in “social isolation” to help our community and nation fight this pandemic.
