People have been asking me if I’m running for re-election. I am, and here’s why:

Wauwatosa means a lot to me.  I was raised and educated here.  I owe a lot to my hometown.

I grew up in a large family and we didn’t have much.  But my parents believed in education and hard work, and instilled that in us.  Wauwatosa was good to us: we had great schools, beautiful neighborhoods and parks, and good neighbors.

We still do.

My parents also taught us that we must give back, so I’ve dedicated my life to serving Wauwatosa and the broader community. I’m running for reelection as Mayor now because this election is critical. My priorities continue to be maintaining the City’s financial strength, preserving our beautiful neighborhoods and parks, continuing to invest in the City’s roads, sewers, and other infrastructure, and making Wauwatosa a place of welcome for everyone.

Our community has never been stronger. Our population, which was 58,676 in 1970, declined for decades. Now it is growing again. 58% of that growth has occurred since 2016. Average household size has increased and our population is getting younger. More than ever, Wauwatosa is a place where people – especially young families – want to live.

I’ve worked many years in both the private and public sectors, and I know how to make government work effectively for everyone.  I want to continue to serve the community that has given me so much.

That’s why I’m running for reelection. We’ve accomplished much over the last four years and we need strong leadership to keep moving forward.

Of course, I can’t do it alone.  Like Wauwatosa, I need the help of my neighbors and friends. Let’s all continue to work together for a bright future.
